Valid account number formats

Bene acct. no.= length of account number (if country uses IBAN, refers to the length of the traditional non-IBAN acct. no.) IBAN = international bank account number.

AN = alphanumeric, N = numeric, "0..7" means from 0 to 7 characters

Country uses a check digit algorithm: means that the last digit or several digits of an acct. no. are the result of a calculation made over some or all of the characters in the acct. no.. Therefore even though the acct. no. entered may conform to the correct no. of characters, it still may be wrong.

Symbols are significant: symbols such as periods, slashes, etc. are a significant part of the account number and should always be included. Likewise, Access Online will not remove these symbols when presenting the account number onscreen.

Required use of IBAN within Europe
Beneficiary IBAN and bank of the beneficiary BIC (SWIFT ID) are officially mandatory on cross-border payments denominated in euro between countries in the European Economic Area (European Union, Iceland, Norway, and Liechtenstein). Nonetheless, Access Online permits you to use standard account numbers instead of IBAN for such transactions; however such payments are subject to additional fees and the beneficiary bank might reject/return the payment as a matter of normal practice. For Bulgarian, Italian (see details), Polish, Romanian, and (if payment in EUR) Luxembourg beneficiaries you must use the IBAN.
